The church is falling apart. Books are being written with titles such as “The Great Dechurching.” Truth isn’t being proclaimed. Division is being drawn down political lines instead of truth and righteousness. Our tolerance for immorality is inexcusable. And I have a burden that the church stand strong and united now more than ever. There really is no need for yet another blog and yet my burning love for the church pushes me to find some kind of outlet to share my passion.
The point of this blog is simple. It’s something that’s been written about 1000 times, but I’m afraid is quickly being forgotten. I want to write about the purpose of the church. Our culture has become far too individualistic. The church is being perceived as having little relevance. But the church is body of Christ and the gates of hell won’t prevail against it. Individuals can’t stand alone and they shouldn’t and aren’t supposed to.
So, please join me in rediscovering the purpose of the church in God’s story of redemption for today’s context.
